Well, the title of this article pretty much sums it up. If you want to lose weight, you are going to have to exercise and you are going to have to detox your body. These are actually part of the same process. That is to say, they work hand in hand to not only give you faster results, but better results as well.

If you plan on detoxifying your body first, then start exercising, there might be a small flaw with your plan. You see, your body is always detoxifying on its own. You don’t need to do anything special to help your kidneys and liver filter your blood. You don’t need to assist your lungs in cleansing your body. You also don’t need to clean your colon in order for your body to do its natural detox process.

Having said all of this, there are specific ways that you can assist your body and all of your organ systems in doing a better job of detoxing. In other words, you can help your body by the foods you eat, the way you move and by participating in some alternative means for how to detox. Let’s discuss some of these points.

So, your kidneys and liver will detoxify whatever is in your blood. This means, if you put poor nutrition into your body or smoke or drink too much, your body will have to work harder to do what it wants to do: detox your body. However, with organic foods, adequate hydration and less meat choices, you will begin to notice that your body is working better more easily.

The exercises that you can do to assist your body in this detox process can be more general like running, swimming, or sports. They can also be more specific like certain breath and body awareness exercises or yoga that is helpful in this process. Yoga postures or asanas as they are called, are based upon ancient practices that help your body detox naturally.

The poses and breathing styles are meant to activate your body’s natural system to cleanse itself and purify. Because your lungs make up a large part of the way your body detoxes, these breathing patterns and exercises can get you to where you want to be faster. Additionally, the twisting poses and movements assist your organs and colon in eliminating waste, another large source of toxins. This is why colon cleansing is such a large part of body detox program.
