hi, i want to lose fat and gain muscle, i was wondering because u have to eat more for muscle gain and eat less for fat loss… im 18 176pounds aand 5,7 tall, my bmr says i lose about 2500-2800 calories a day with my daily exercise and this that.. if i were to eat lets say about 2000 calories, so lose about 500+ calories a day and if i were to do weight lifting 3-4 times a week with some cardio like running and epitcal an bike riding.. would i lose my fat and gain muscle at the sametime or do i have to do one at a time like lose fat the gain muslce or the other way around, also how important is my protien intake i mean it says i have to get like 180grams of protien a day and i heard u can only consume about 30-40 grams every 3 hours and so that would mean i were to eat 5-6 times a day and i cant really do that, so is it okay to just eat about 80-120 grams of protien?.. cheers for anwsers.

One rule of thumb when it comes to nutrition is 1 gram of protein per pound of ideal body weight. Eating 5-6 times a day is recommended because it prevents you from overeating at all, but it can be difficult to work with if you have a tight schedule. Remember, however, that these don’t have to be full meals; it can be 3 square meals and 2 sandwiches or snack bars in between. It also helps to drink lots of water — at least 2 liters or so a day. This helps you feel full and provides uber-important hydration.

Steady-state cardio like running is not the most efficient way to burn fat. Look into high-intensity interval training — there are loads of sites that provide free advice. Short, intense resistance training sessions will do wonders for you.

Ok I’m a pretty fit person and not a whole lot of body fat, haven’t been into weights really lately, but going to start up. i could stand to shed some of the little body fat I do have. question..are there any GOOD supplements that actually WORK and are safe to use that would help me shed a little fat and help the muscle gain a little?

Well, i know at 24 hour fitness they have amazing protein shakes and bars..the brands that work best are Apex…and they taste amazing. they can be a little pricy but not compared to others and they actually work.
