I hate cardio gimme the kettlebells
February 17th, 2015 at 4:41 pm
What the fuck is resistance training.
February 17th, 2015 at 5:20 pm
Cardio builds stamina. That’s why most pro athletes do it. Mixing it up is
the best way.
February 17th, 2015 at 5:53 pm
Just mix it up guys. No need to over complicate things. Mix in hypertrophy
based training with some strength training, have a moderate caloric deficit
and moderate cardio 2-3 times a week. Results will come with time!

I agree I just don’t think its really practical to MAINTAIN an elevated
heart rate while lifting… You’d have to be using some light ass weights
or something. As opposed to a treadmill where you can walk on say 4.0 speed
with an incline, have an elevated hr, and still do the work for a prolonged
period of time.

Fuck cardio bunnies
February 17th, 2015 at 6:56 pm
Great advice I try to tell beginners this all the time but they don’t
listen and just do endless cardio.
February 17th, 2015 at 7:22 pm
Thnx man, Iv been walking for at least 6h daily now sometimes 10h or more,
Im 15%, just to reach 10% I will try weightlifting.

love the hoodie JR :)
February 17th, 2015 at 8:05 pm
Is this a good idea (I’m new to training and I want to lose weight and
build muscle)
:
Cardio in mornings ( running on treadmill) and going to gym in the evenings
for weight training.
I’m new to this so if you have any links or videos, it’s be helpful!

If you ask me, fuck cardio. Diet = gain weight/lose weight/maintain weight
then you gotta lift heavy to gain muscle/maintain muscle/maintain muscle.
SIMPLE!
February 17th, 2015 at 9:10 pm
good advice :P

Solid points I hate cardio. I do weight training and 20 min hitt… I
stopped and I noticed I would run out of breath when I would lift …
cardio has helped me get more reps in
February 17th, 2015 at 10:36 pm
Hit up some circuit training using both weights and machines. Just keep
your rest periods between each exercise to a minimum depending on your
fitness levels. You can get an awesome workout aerobically and
anaerobically doing circuits.

I don’t care for cardio either, but, for me anyway, it’s necessary.
Besides weight loss there are several other health benefits to cardio. In
my case I have brought my blood pressure down considerably. It is also
beneficial to heart health as well as great for developing greater lung
capacity.

I agree love weightlifting!

Good vid keep up the good work JR
February 18th, 2015 at 12:52 am
Hey JR. I was just thinking back to some of your older videos and
specifically thought about the training at SNAP you did with Dan Berg. I
think he is dead now… But either way, crazy to think that I know so much
detail about your life and you know nothing about us! haha

want to lose weight and only weight? fix your diet up. cardio and weight
lifting wont do fuck all for you if your diet isnt in check, as for all the
people saying fuck cardio you will loose MUCH more weight doing cardio than
weight training…ofcourse doing both cardio and weight training is better
though

I’m not pro-cardio or anti-cardio. Some people need it to get super lean,
some don’t. But I do think that people introduce it too soon in a fat loss
phase (more on that later). However, if you decide to use cardio to get
leaner, doing it fasted is a very bad idea. The absolute best way to get
the greatest caloric expenditure over the whole day from cardio is to do
your cardio in what’s called the post-absorptive state. That means not in a
fasted state, but not while you’re still digesting either. It’s a state
where nutrients are available in the bloodstream and fat oxidation and
caloric expenditure is at its greatest.
