The 3 Basics:

Whenever we eat, we take in calories. This is a measure of heat that goes into the body to make us strong, healthy and ready to take on our daily tasks. Our body metabolizes the calories or burns them off every time we exert physical effort in doing things.

Excess calories resulting from eating more than we need, or food exceedingly rich in them will just be converted to fat and stored in the body. The more fats we store, the more obese we get and thus, overweight. Being overweight means we exceed the weight range prescribed by the medical professions as being right for our age and height.

Getting to the right weight range for us means losing excess poundage. This can be water loss or fat loss. Our bodies also retain water that can exceed the minimum. There are basically three things we can do to get there.

1. Exercise to burn excess calories and stored fat. This is the best way to lose weight. People often blame the foods we eat as contributing to our obesity. But our modern world has so many comforts and conveniences, we no longer do the things that people 100 years ago normally do that gives them a lean body.

2. Take diet pills or supplements that can suppress appetites and induce fat burning action from its formulation. This is the quickest way out but not all diet supplements work and some that do have unwanted side effects that can be more harmful.

3. Go into a dieting regimen that prescribes what to eat and what not to eat. There are many dieting plans out there and it is best to learn what your body and lifestyle can tolerate. Low fat and low carb diets are basically deprivation diets that can be harmful in the long run.

This will just give your body another source of energy to use instead of its fat, which is what you are trying to lose the most of.

Working out in the morning not only just depletes more fat during the workout, but it also maximizes your bodies fat burning hormones throughout the day so you will burn fat even while your body is at rest. This will work to ensure that your metabolism is at its peak while you go about doing whatever it is you do during the day.

Another great tip to ensure that your bodies metabolism is working overdrive all day and burning as much fat as possible, is eating smaller meals more often during the day. This will literally fuel your body into burning more fat as it is constantly getting just enough calories so it is not forced to store the calories like it would if you ate just a few big meals during the day.

When you eat big meals, your body knows that it might not get fed again for awhile so what it does is actually stores the food so it can utilize it for longer periods of the day. So starving yourself is not a good way to lose weight! You can cut down on calories but still spread the calories in a more even fashion during the day to really optimize your bodies fat burning potential.
